There’s nothing worse from a fan’s perspective than seeing a player with obvious talent throw it all away, and that was the case with Drenthe at Everton.
The electric winger moved to Merseyside on loan in 2011, and fans were ecstatic to get one of Real Madrid’s best youth talents for the season.
His attitude never matched his obvious flair and talent though, and he has played for six different clubs since leaving the Toffees.

Drenthe scored three times in 21 league games at Goodison, and caused much controversy when he was left out of David Moyes’ FA Cup semi-final squad after he reported late for training.
The 31-year-old now plays his football for hometown club Sparta Rotterdam, and fans have been giving their verdict on his time at Everton.
